Hey!!
Well then this week was nutso. Found out i got Farengitis (I think he means Laryngitis ) or whatever which is a throat infection. So i can still go out and work and everything and im taking an antibiotic. But now im even more tired all the time. Also i would be sending pictures of my first baptism which we were supposed to have yesterday but we went to their house to get them before it and take a taxi there but they werent there!! we were like where the heck are they!??!?!? Never came to the church so we just told everyone else not to come and went on with our day. Turns out that the mom got really sick and they had to go to the hospital. We rescheduled it for the next sunday though so to be continued!!!
Besides that we tried to have a family home evening at this house that is right but the place that we are teaching like everyone buuuut noone showed to that either. Tough day yesterday.
We are still working really hard! The biggest thing we need to focus on is who is coming to church or what we can do to help some people come to church and drop the others for now.
Tomorrow i get to go on intercambios so that should be cool! idk what its going to be like but i will be in another area all day. Besides i dont really know much of what to say. I'm getting better at futbol :P haha.
I love you all and appreciate the support i have!

Zone Conference
Hey!!!
This week has been pretty nuts. So last Tuesday we had a big zone conference with the 3 stakes of Cuautla and president came down for it and it was really good. Took up like a ton of the day but oh well. Then Thursday we had to go up to Cuernavaca again for the new trainies meeting on Friday. It was really good but that was when i was just starting to get sick. So that sort of sucked. But its been really good to hear from the president and sister kusch and them. They are focusing a loooooot lately on being like super ridiculously obedient. Its good just really hard sometimes. But i beleive they are inspired to be our leaders so they know best.
Saturday we finally got a full day to teach and be out and stuff but that was when i was just starting to get sick and it was pretty miserable of a day for me. I was like .5 degrees short of having to stay inside all day when I checked in the morning and then when I checked my temp again at night it was like 103 haha. Yeah not fun. But we got a lot of really good lessons in. That one kid Moises is really progressing. He's a bit weird but he said he used to do like crazy amounts of drugs and that's kind of why he has been trying to clean up his life. He's got a ton of faith in God and believes like everything we teach him he just doesnt know like practically anything about the gospel so its a bit hard. Bit by bit i totally see him getting baptized one day. Plus him and his whole family came to church!!! its was awesome. Me and my companion gave talks too which I think help them a lot. I was like super sick so we decided to only go to sacrement then just pretty much chill in the house all day while I tried to recover. I´m hoping that i can completely feel better this week and we can work hard to finally put into practice the things we learned at all the conferences this last week.
I think with this next week I'm going to have my first transfer in Mexico!! Only like 16 or so to go!! haha. Anyways I love everyone and when the times get the hardest I always remember how much support I have here as a missionary and it makes me feel a bit better.
Have a great week!

The Escogidos...Chosen Ones
Hey!
It looks like you guys are having a lot of fun!! I miss the ocean, and cold weather.. and water haha. That sucks to hear about the starfish. They were cool. Thats good you guys are keeping in contact with Mindy still. She said you said you were keeping an eye on her lol.
This week went pretty good! We didn't really have that many new investigators. We had been talking to this one lady who lives in a little neighborhood? idk how to explain it. There is a door to get into their little community. Anyways she could never come to church because i guess her husband wouldn't let her. We don't know why, but we got to talk to a ton of the people inside there and they are all super willing to listen to us! We call people like that the escogidos or chosen ones haha. Apparently Nathan in his mission calls them the elegidos or elected haha. I like ours better :P. But yeah thats like the life! There are so many people that are not ready yet, but when you find that gem in the rocks its so cool. One of them is this family we found that should be getting baptised in like 2 or 3 weeks. They are so escogido and its sick that i get to baptize a family for my first baptisms!
So we just have a branch. And we meet in this sort of shed thingy. Its got like the plaque and everything that a regular church does but its just really small. We have like 40ish people every sunday. Our president was actually born in the church. Most of our branch is this one family. Because of that I think some of the people who are not part of that family don't quite feel as welcome. Its the struggle.
So this wednesday we are having a mission conference here and every zone gets to do this skit about a cat and mice and speaking a different language. The white people have to act and the latinos have to say our parts in english. Its super funny. I get to be the cat.... its awkward hahaha. Super funny though so hopefully i can send a video of it next week. Maybe my pres will send one to our families.
I bought a bag though. Its pretty neet. The other one i had was just too weird hahaha. My comp said it looked like a parachute pack.
So we had a pet toad for like 2 days. The toads here hiss and its super weird and creepy haha. He lived in our bathroom and just chilled there. He kept pooping and so we let him go. That and he was probably gonna die haha.
I totally feel like i am adapting here though. I used to feel all awkward because i didn't know spanish or whatever but i basically understand everyone now and can attempt to speak back. I feel like the stereotipical asian tourist trying to speak english. hahah. Although I have heard that my accent is good. I just need to learn how to say things. They say things so weird here. Like it is not directly translating words from english. I'm learning mexican, not spanish. We will see how Spencer and my buddies will be able to understand me after haha.
Well i love you all and can't wait to see you all again! I can feel the support I have from back home and from heaven as well!
Love

P.S. Oh yeah your questions. Well we get like 900 pesos every 15ish days, twice a month. It's actually a lot. We mostly spend it on transportation, but for everything over 500 that we spend a month on transportation we can get caja chica on, or reimbursed.
It actually has only rained like twice!! I came RIGHT after the rainy season, and I guess it didn't rain as much as it was supposed to this season. GLOBAL WARMING :P. jk momma.
So for requests... lets see. a rubix cube. or a fountain pen. or a tie clip that is plain. it can't have like an angel or anything on it. or a pokemon stickerbook, yeah, me and my comp found a mutual interest hahaha.

Second Week is even Better!
Hola
So this week was pretty.... unique. Me and my companion were both pretty sick like Tuesday morning so we didn't get to go out proselyting very early. Then Wednesday i got to go to Cuernavaca and get my visa stuff done. And i got to see one of the elders from my "generation" there! Elder Peterson. It was pretty cool.
So one of the families we are trying to teach we call the muebles family. which means furniture because we didn't know their names forever and they own a furniture and tacos store haha. Anyways their kids speak english a little from school and what not so like Saturday we got to sit down with them and talk english for like an hour. It was pretty cool but it was a bit lame that we didn't really get to teach them too much yet. They are pretty active in their christian church and i'm not even sure how interested they really are.
There is this other family Rosario that is really cool. There are like 4 or 5 kids and the mother. The dad died in a car crash just like 6 months ago or whatnot. I feel so bad for them because they have young little girls. They are members but just less active. We got to go to their place this morning actually and make them pancakes and bacon for breakfast and it was super awesome. I have some pictures. The bacon was popping in the grease so i had to wear this towel over my arm to protect it haha.
Besides that we are doing good! my spanish is getting better and better but it is still hard to understand people sometimes and it gets really frustrating because i just cant talk to people!! Oh well. I'm like 2 weeks in so I'm not too worried about it.
I definitely have a more strengthened testimony of the church as being the real and only true church of God. By following the Principles of the Gospel is the only way you will always have happiness in this life even in hard times, and eternal happiness and progression in the life to come. Through the atonement all can be made up for. One way is when we know what we are actually here on the earth for, it is easier to be happy in times of sadness because we know that this is such a short life and what we do and the choices we make NOT what happens to us is what determines how happy we will be for the rest of eternity.
I have been reading in Jacob where he quotes Zenos about the laboring in the vineyard. That is a good parable to demonstrate what God's eternal plan is for us and how we can accomplish our part in that. I know that here on my mission is where i am supposed to be and i love it more here everyday.
I love you all and thank your for your support!!

Questions:
1 Where are you getting your food that has raw onions on it? Are there restrictions to eating street tacos? They just put the raw onions in with some of the meats they cook. Like as a topping. And no. You can pretty much eat anything. Everything is dirtier here but you can eat whatever you want!
2 Is it hot or just right there? Humid or normal? Its not terribly hot.. There are a lot hotter parts of the mission. It is probably around 80-90 everyday and like... maybe seattle humid. Not bad. We still sweat a tonnnn
3 Do you wear your suit jacket much? I have worn my suit jacket like, Once since ive been here. I wore it the first day and the first sunday only because it was stake conference and our mission president was there.
4 Are you walking mostly or how do you get around? We basically walk everywhere. All over mexico there are these vans that take people between the little pueblos called Combis. They are like 6 1/2 pesos per trip. so like 50 cents.
5 You said Mexico is beautiful, what is the prettiest thing you've seen? Probably the coolest thing is some of the mountains between here and cuernavaca. It is all just so green and foresty it is awesome. its totally not like the mexico in movies like nacho libre haha.
6 I still need a scripture for your missionary plaque at church.probably 2 Nephi 26:23-24 God doesn't work in darkness. He doesn't command anyone to not partake of his salivation
7 What is the weirdest animal you've seen in Mexico. Well there are little lizards everywhere... and stray dogs... idk there is nothing super weird yet. We are going to go to some ruins here one Pday and i heard there are these weird little animals there.
8 Did you get the stuff you needed for bedding, etc? Meh i just lay on a blanket here and use my sheet when i get cold. But its usually really hot in the nights so i sleep with a fan on me.
9 What is a typical day like for you? get up, shower, eat a bowl of cereal, study for like 3 hours, personal companion 12 week, then we go out and visit people or whatever stuff till like 3 and we have a lunch appointment with one of the members. then at like 4 we go back out and come home around 8:30 9ish when it gets dark! then we usually just go to bed but sometimes eat or whatever till bed. pretty much the same everyday. It sounds boring but we usually get pretty good lessons in everyday.
10 What sites are you excited to visit? I'm pretty excited for Acapulco. I heard its pretty hot there and probably one of the most dangerous areas of my mission. But being on the coast would be sweeeet. Dont worry, its not dangerous here like at all haha.
Yeah thats about it!!
