Enedina and Alicia

Everyone,

Hey! So still no baptism... We had the interview last week though with
Enedina who is going to be baptized THIS week. We hope. She is
honestly a miracle all in one. Through the experience teaching her its
taught me about service, patience, God’s influence in the lives of
EVERYONE even those who aren’t members or whatever. God
prepared us to find her and to receive our message. She’s actually
excited for her baptism. She has a mountain of family problems
especially with her husband right now and is just looking to
get away. She sees baptism now as she should as a help for
her in everything.

Anyways another lady we met this week was Alicia. They call her Dona
Licha. She was a reference from a member from like over a month ago.
when I sent those pictures of me by like a countryside was when we
went the first time to look for her but then this week we called her
up and went with her too. She’s really cool and I’m pretty sure she will
get baptized. She went to church yesterday and we visited her after
and cleared up some questions she had about it. It was super cool.

Well today is the last day of President Kusch! Super weird. I’ll see
him again but it’s just weird that he’s leaving. Today we get President
Avila from Guanajuato or some state like that. Ill meet him Wednesday.

I hate this internet.. I just finished this and it erased it.

So basically the mission until the new president gets here will be
kind of confused. He won’t know us yet but I know he’s gonna come with
some cool ideas and it will be good.

So I saw on lds.org that supreme court decision on gay marriage.
Honestly it was predicted. The constitution was an inspired document
but just like the bible being handled without prophets was changed the
same has happened with the constitution. I was reading in Mosiah this
last week and I liked a part that talked about the organization of the
reign of the judges. The purpose was that there would be no one to
oblige them to do what’s right and that every person would be
responsible for their own decisions. That’s kind of how I saw the
churches reply to it. The church won’t baby us or force us to do what’s
right. We will be taught what’s right and expected to follow what we
are taught but have the choice not to.

Anyways this last week went well. We had a lot of people in church and
are seeing progress.

I love you all! Keep the prayers going. Have a good week!!

Late Fathers Day

Everyone,

Hey! Happy late father’s day!!

This week was pretty good.  This is the last week of our president! So weird. Next Monday at around 6 we will have a new president. For now everything is going normal. We just had changes. My trainer went home, an Hermana from the district went home and our zone is 4 people smaller.

Yesterday at church though was a miracle!! We had like 5 people in church, the Hermana’s that share the ward had 8 so a total of 13 for our ward!!! That was a miracle. The thing is I have no idea why we had so much success or anything so I can only keep doing what we are doing and hope for the best next week though!

This week we should have a baptism hopefully. Enedina, a lady I told you all about a few weeks ago. She’s had a lot of trials on her road to baptism but this should be the week.

Yesterday at church the Hermana that went home that shared the ward Hermana Fernelious came with her family! They came to pick her up here in Mexico and it was cool. They came to the food yesterday too and told us the story of how they met and all that. One of her little brothers doesn’t really speak Spanish so it was interesting for him but it was nice to talk to new people in English.

It was a good week and I’m excited for the start of this change! I’ll be with my comp Elder Moreno still so we will be together for the first weeks of the new president.

Well, have a good week everyone! I love you guys and thanks for the thoughts and prayers!

I received a random text from the family of the Sister (Fernelious) that was going home.  They were visiting the mission and took this picture at church of Elder Marrott and I think his comp Elder Moreno.  She served with Elder Marrott.  It's so rare that we get texts from members in Mexico.  They said Elder Marrott was happy and sends his love.

Conferences

Everyone,

Hey!! This week was super long. Or actually just a ton of stuff happened. So first off Tuesday we had our zone training, Question, is Capacitation a word? It’s the word for training in Spanish with a very English accent. But we always use it because it’s easier in English.. Anyways. So the zone capacitation was really good. The assistants came for it and I’m not exactly sure why but it was nice to have their help there. President doesn’t come to those, only zone conferences. So yeah that happened.

Then this weekend we had stake conference with an area seventy, Elder Villalobos. It was super cool. We went to the adult session on Saturday night too and they did a cool panel of a bunch of different people. The topic was the plan of salvation. I really liked it. The whole purpose of the church is to help people with the plan of salvation for them and their families.

So changes are this week! I don’t think that there will be changes for us. The new president is going to come on the 29th. 2 weeks from today. So I’m pretty sure president Kusch wants to have all zone leaders that know what they’re doing and everything.

Our investigator Enedina is doing really good too. She went to all of stake conference and loved it. We are also reactivating a lot of nonmembers. I feel like we need to work with the members again. When I think of that it makes me miss Amiltzingo a ton too...

Anyways that’s my week. I love you guys. Keep up the good work! Give a referral to a missionary this week!!

Farewell President Kusch

Everyone,

Hey! This week was busy. So last Tuesday we went to Cuernavaca for a meeting with President Kusch and the BBQ. It was interesting because we usually don’t have the extra meeting but it was really good. It was focused on being the best leaders that we can be.

Wednesday we had our last council with President Kusch. Next council will be with the new President Avila. It should be super exciting! Anyways the Council was super fun. Afterwards we got to cut Presidents tie (this tradition when a missionary goes home) and then after he took all us to Thrifty´s ice-cream!! It was awesome. It was a good present and I’m so glad we have gotten to spend so much time with them.

So here in our zone its going good too. I can’t really think of any awesome experiences to share.. Yesterday was the elections, I still have no idea who won.

Tomorrow we have a Zone training meeting and it should be way good. I’m kinda stressed for it because it’s a lot of responsibility on us but we should be good and prepared.

Well that’s my week! I wish there was more to write about.. I’ll try to think of a cool story for the next one.

Love you guys!

Mexican Country

Everyone,

Hey!! I had a pretty good week this week. Its been raining a ton every night which is a lot nicer than dying of hotness every night. But we might need to look for a tank of gas again because the water is pretty dang cold. I shower at night and in the morning, my body at night because the water isn’t as cold and only my hair in the morning to get rid of the bedhead and shave.

Tomorrow we are going to go to Cuernavaca! I’m stoked. I’ll get to see my old companion Elder Carter and a few other people. I think it also MIGHT be the last time I see president too... Getting a new president will be so weird. I have no idea what is going to change. Possibly everything.

I was thinking how soooo different it is to be a missionary here in this part of Mexico compared to the US or like Europe or something. Culture is such an interesting thing.. I love it here in Mexico. It’s grown on me. Next Sunday will be Election Day for cities and counties. There have been like cars and Trucks going around blasting popular songs that have been changed to talk about a candidate. It’s funny. The elections should be interesting. We might have to stay in all day. I know in Guerrero they can go to church and to the food but then they have to go back to their houses. If things happen here we will have to do the same.

This week we could have a baptism!! Her name is Enedina and she was a miracle that we found. I’m not sure if I told the story a few weeks ago.. I don’t think so. Anyways we went to the food at this return missionaries house and she is like pretty old and lives alone but is super cool. Anyways we went with her to eat and then afterwards I went to go wash my dishes. I first washed all ours then I though why not all her dishes! So by the end of it I had washed like a big tubful. Anyways we were there for a while but when we left and were walking back this guy on the street was like hey glad you came, my wife is inside waiting for you! We had no idea who he was so we asked more and he said she was in there reading the book of Mormon. Well we went in and met her! She has a daughter in Texas that’s a member and she visited her for like 3 months and went to church the whole time. She even has like 3 apps from the church on her tablet and has seen all the book of mormon animations. Anyways she’s like super cool and hopefully we can baptize her this week. We are going to see her today after pday.

So I’m loving it here. I’m learning a lot more and having fun. Have a good week everyone!!!

Love
