Everyone.
Sooo I pretty much had like the longest week of my mission
this week! I got called as a Zone Leader!!! Its pretty crazy because I've never
trained or been district leader or anything like that sooo yeah! Its nuts. So President called me on Wednesday in the morning and called me. The assistants
told me I had a meeting Friday to go to and that I should pack all my stuff up.
Thursday I said goodbye to everyone in Nino Artillero and
then Friday I was at the meeting in the morning! It went from 12-8 and it was
all the leaders in the mission so there was a lot. I got to see Elder Holmstead
(my trainer) and some other elders and it was super cool!
I’m now in Galeana zone Galeana area. But I live in a town
called Zacatepec. The zone is like pure hermanas too!! Except the Zone leaders
and the district leaders and their companions. Also I had a fun first night as
a zone leader... At 1 I got a call from one of the district leaders and told me
that some of the hermanas heard someone knocking on their windows and saw
shadows. Sooo we had to send a member over there to scare the guy off then the
send the hermanas at like 3 in the morning to go to a members house to sleep.
The next day we spent COMPLETELY looking for a new house because president didn't
want them to spend another night there. It had happened before. Finally we
found them a house and Sunday after church we got help from our bishop to move
them to their new house. They had to sleep with that member again. Sooo that’s
my life right now!!! Tonight we have to go over there to help them move some
more.
I noticed that being a zone leader means that you do all the
work for other people that isn't like proselyting so that all the missionaries
in the zone can work full time. I’m learning like soooo much about how a
mission and the church in general works though. It’s kind of hard for me as
Zone leader because I’ve never been a district leader sooo i don’t know what
the job of the people ¨below¨ me is.
I’ve learned a lot about diligence though and its really
cool. I read about the difference of weakness and sin and learned that we all
have both but we shouldn’t feel bad for our weaknesses. God never allows Satan
to tempt us more than we can handle and if we are diligently faithful we will
be alright.
I don’t really know much else to write about. I was pretty
sad to leave Nino Artillero. We had like 3 baptisms coming up in the next 2
weeks that I wish I could be there for but I’ll just have to get the pics from
my old comp... Speaking of which my new comp is named Elder Carter from Morgan
Utah. He’s got 19 months on the mish and is pretty cool. He’s in one of the
pics I sent. Sitting at a table with this other elder who was staying with us
for a while.
Well that’s my week! I love you all so much. Keep at it
being awesome and Have a great week!!
Love,
Elder Marrott
