Buenas Tardes!!

Everyone,

This week has gone by so fast.. It’s crazy. We still have the other 2 missionaries here in our area that were assigned to Guerrero. It’s been a challenge to find work for all of us. We end up knocking a lot more doors.

So no one in church this week.... again... I don’t really know what more we can do to get our investigators to actually come to church. We pass by for them in the morning and everything. The worst part is that without going to church, they can’t really progress toward baptism. There’s only really 1 chance in the week to get the criteria and if they don’t we just have to wait.. Super-duper frustrating. Any ideas anyone can think of would be appreciated. I think this week we are going to ask for some help/ideas from our leaders. Besides that though this week went really good.

We got a lot of really good powerful lessons in and have just stayed busy. The mission is sooo tiring though. I never realized what being spiritually exhausted is until this week. Like when one of the first lessons of the day is super powerful and your way focused. Then when you get out of it you realize that you have to do that like 5 or 6 more times in the day... Takes a lot of energy!! The Lord definitely supplies you with everything you need though. When you have a calling the capacity to fulfill it is given as well. All we have to do is ask in faith.

Well this week is my birthday!! I’m super stoked. I have like 5 families that are going to give me cake or something. It’s gonna be great. I’ll let you all know how it went next week. Also sorry if I type bad today. The keyboard I’m using is pretty sticky... Welp.

I’m not sure what else to write about. I’m sure I forgot something. I’ll write it down to remember next week. As my exhortation,, Watch and take advantage of conference!!! There are so many talks that are so goooood. Things that you wouldn’t even think would apply or help you I promise can really do it if you listen to them. It’s like new scripture!!

I love everyone. I feel your support. I can’t wait to see everyone again!!

Working hard in Mexico

Hey!

So this week has been crazy. They closed part of the mission for the craziness going on in Guerrero. One of the states here. We have 2 more missionaries living with us in our area! So me and my companion have both been taking 1 a day and doing divisions every day. We plan on just assigning them to one of the areas so that they can be together and me and my companion can be together. Its been super stressful finding things to do though.. We don't want to just go by everyone everyday because they have lives too. And we don't want to confuse people by having different missionaries visit them every day.

This Pday was well needed haha. I thing with this coming week we will get things figured out. Then the week after hopefully they will go back to their own areas! Lots and lots of praying..

So I've been trying to go back over a lot of the conference talks and listening or reading them again but its super hard only being able to go on the computer once a week. I've gotten a lot out of them so far. There are so many good ones! Also, my studies are super good still. Man honestly that is my favorite part of my mission right now. Just being able to learn so much more about the gospel. Fortify my testimony and learn things that are going to help me for the rest of my life.

As far as the work goes its been kind of hard. We have had a lot of good lessons with people but people just don't come to church.... Its so annoying because they have to have 5 times in church before they can get baptized so when we set a date for them they HAVE to go to church. Me and my companion were thinking about making a meme about missionary work in mexico. Its basically just going to say... JUST COME TO CHURCH! Seriously though. Anyone who does we have no problem getting them a testimony and baptized. Maybe we just need to filter through people faster.

I'm actually getting really good at soccer! I never really played before my mission but i feel like I'm actually pretty dang good. Long legs are nice haha. Also I love it when little mexican kids just stare at me. Just cuz I'm tall. Haha. Mexico!!!

I love you guys. Love is literally what it is all about. Just learn to love unconditionally to everyone and you will be happy.

Buenas Tardes/Das/Noches!!! Depending on when you read this!

So this week was pretty good. Weeks are starting to go by sooo fast! Also, I'm over a 6th of the way through my mission! Crazy. Kindof. Its really not that much if you think about it.

So this week we had tons of appointments fail. It was super depressing so most days we just walked... like almost all day. We have 10 people who we could totally be teaching but we just can't ever get a lesson in with them! The ones we are meeting with already are progressing pretty decently. If we are lucky we can get a baptism for this little 9 year old kid whose family isn't members but he's been to church a ton of times with his friend. That's the plan!

So most likely I'll be staying in this area again for this change with my companion. His name is Elder Holmstead... Idk if I actually ever mentioned that... He's from Pocatello Idaho and left on his misson about as young as you possibly can. He will be home like a week before he's 20. Crazy. Anyways he's pretty cool We get along. Its almost kind of scary to get another companion some day just because I'm used to him.

Changes got postponed a few days for some crazy stuff going on in Iguala. An area in our mission. You can look it up but its crazy. Oh Mexico... Mexico seriously needs our prayers.

There's a lot of pretty bad and a little bit of realllllly good. The good just needs some more motivation to stick out and be appealing to people.

You all are the best. Keep the states strong. I love you all and take care!

General Conference makes Happy Missionaries!

Everyone,
Hey!! So conference was the BEST!!! We got to gather all the English speaking missionaries of our whole zone in the high councilors room with the comfy chairs and watch it there! We brought snacks and some of the sister missionaries brought pancakes for the Sunday morning session. I loved it.

As for my favorite talk I don't know!! I loved Elder Christofferson's talk. I didn't bring my notes so I can't really remember what it was about but I just remember he's my favorite. 200 pesos says hes gonna be prophet one day.

Also I found out I'm not getting changed and neither is my companion!!! So we get to work together in Hospital for another 6 weeks then like almost for certain one of us is going to go. It's pretty cool. Not very often does a companionship stay together for more than 2 changes. I kind of would like to go and see other parts of the mission ... cough Acapulco, cough... but its cool staying here! Its such a big area and so many different pueblos to visit and work to do!

My spanish is getting pretty good! The super duper annoying part is that I feel like some of the members or people that listen to me that know I'm new just don't even try to understand me. They just go to my companion and say what did he say?? Its so frustrating!!! I'm not even saying anything wrong. Maybe a little more complicated but they just assume I'm some white guy that doesn't know Spanish and ask my companion. Ugh.

Hopefully this week we will get one of our investigators baptized!! She's been talking to the missionaries for like 6 months. She knows the church is true and everything and been to church plenty of times. Her one doubt was that she didnt know for sure if the prophet was actualy the prophet. We brought her to the first session of general conference and we are gonna check up with her if she got her answer or anything and then see if she can get baptized!! pray for us!!!

I love you all and thanks for all the support. Listen to conference!!! Its not enough just to watch it half way the day its broadcast. I can't wait to print off like all the talks and just dive in to them. They are just as important and true if not more than the scriptures. They are specifically for us.

Keep being awesome and take care of the states!!!
Love,
