Zone Conference

Everyone,

Hey!! So this week went pretty dang good. We had a Zone conference with one of the zones in Cuernavaca so we got to go there for it and it was pretty good. We got to see president which is pretty rare and got some really good guidance. They said a few things about the craziness going on in that we have all these extra missionaries here. It doesn’t look like they are going to be going back to their areas very soon. One of the topics for this was that the Lord is hastening his work and we need to hasten and change up our methods of teaching to be able to keep pace with them too. I really liked it because i see a lot of other missionaries that get in a routine to teach and basically give the same lesson to everyone regardless of who they are or their needs. I like this because it’s a good promise to us that we will be able to come up with everything we need to teach to our investigators to be able to keep pace with the Lord. It doesn’t necessarily mean that we are going to have more success but that we are going to be doing the work of the lord faster. I think it means we are going to be teaching more people and going through them faster. I hope that means we can see more people accept the gospel and change their lives. We had someone in the capilla this week though!!! Woot. It was this kid that always comes but it was really good to see him in there again. I feel like we are starting to figure out how to work diligently and effectively as missionaries especially with these extra missionaries. I feel busier than ever! Happy Birthday Elder Marrott

Feliz D­as de los muertos! So my birthday was basically on Halloween. They do day of the dead here which is like 3 days long. I’m not even sure if it is still going on. They start it Halloween but people don’t really do much for that. Then on my birthday was like the main day. They did like parades and bands and kids all dressed up like skeletons and stuff. Then they go trick or treating but they only go to the tiendas. Its kind of safer that way. Then everyone uses these like orange flowers to make a trail to an offering for the dead that come in the night to eat it. Its basically like Santa haha. Then there’s the weird catholic part of it with the saints but it’s pretty normal in general. I got a TON of pie and cake for my birthday. I think like 5 in total. Then our lunch appointment that we had fell so we went to this less active family that has an amazing restaurant of fish and what not and i got to eat there again for my birthday. I loved it. Also our convert Melissa got me some sick ties and cake and some other stuff. She’s the coolest.

So apart from that this week went by really fast again. A lot have people have been asking me how my Spanish is and i think its pretty good. I’ve been learning a lot. I definitely get the idea of it. There’s like so many different forms of verbs that you just don’t notice in English. So I get those mixed up but besides that you just have to find out the words for things. And every part of Mexico has their own language pretty much.  Some thing’s that would be rude or offensive in one part are normal in another. It’s basically like having England right next door. One of the elders that is here because Guerrero is closed is Mexican and he’s been helping me a lot. I never realized how hard it is to describe a verb when you don’t know it haha.

So this week as far as work went pretty good. We have some new people. We really opened up the neighboring hill from where we live a lot more than we had it before. Hopefully it will be close enough for the people to come to church. We had 0 again.. Depressing but what you gonna do? We just have to find out what people need and if all we do is reactivate the less actives than that is what we will do. Its still people being invited to come unto Christ in their lives. Maybe it will be even easier because they are already members.
