Everyone, Hey!!!
So yeah, this is a day late but we had to come up to Cuernavaca
yesterday for a meeting with President and we have like absolutely nothing to
do today so it’s basically our p-day because the leadership council isn’t until
tomorrow and we are stuck in Cuernavaca! A Cuernavacation!
So this week was super cool!!! LITZI GOT BAPTIZED!!!!! It
was so cool. We had to do a joined baptism with another ward because we didn’t
coordinate very well with the other missionaries but it was way cool, right
after the sessions on Saturday. She was just so ready to finally be a member
and had waited through so much to get baptized. I also found out from my old comp and his comp
back in my last area that 2 people that I found/taught there got baptized!
Super cool.
But anyways, Conference was way good!! To prepare for the
meeting we have tomorrow, President Avila assigned 2 talks for us to read over
for it. Basically both of them talked about really testing your faith and
putting your confidence COMPLETELY in God, no holding back anything. By reading
those before I reallllly liked the perspective I had for conference... I thought
that President Uchtdorf kicked it off really good with that same theme. The
gospel works!!!! If someone who really believes in God and wants to follow him,
they can follow their thoughts and motivations and by not allowing
rationalization, there is no excuse for not trusting completely and living the
gospel. It’s helped me a lot lately. I’ve been trying to change even more
lately. A thought that helps me is I just say to myself…“Do you really not
trust that God can provide? Make you happy?” It comes down to always, “Do you think you are
better than God?” Or “Satan will help you more than him?” I’ve been humbled a bit through experiences. I
loved the whole first session and I thought the general theme was the same
TRUST GOD, and if you’re not already this is how.
The second session was really good as well and more about
facing todays problems by fixing ourselves. I know I have a crazy life ahead of
me and I thought Elder Hales talk was some great advice for tough decision
making. Especially when he talked about having close friends and trusted
mentors. My mom is my trusted mentor and I regret that I wasn’t at that place where
I wanted help by her until I was here on the mission. I never understood the
sacrifices she made for me and took it for granted, but she’s the best friend I’ve
ever had. Going along with that the talk from President Nelson was great.
“Sisters, do you realize the breadth and scope of your
influence when you speak those things that come to your heart and mind as
directed by the Spirit?”
Pretty much I loved conference. I’m going to download it all
and listen to it again.
I don’t know what else I can say besides I love being a
missionary. More than being a missionary I love what having these experiences
have made of me. Living the gospel really does make you happy and there’s
nothing else that can do it like that!
I love you all. Keep up the good work and have a great
week!! Ponderize!!! DC 121:45
