Helaman 6:2-5

Everyone

Hey!! This week was pretty good. Went by really fast. We had a pretty normal week. Today we had to do a TON. The district leader has to go to all the houses of the missionaries and take pictures of them. The dirty ones get put on a ¨dirty list¨ haha. Anyways we wasted like half the day going to the different houses and taking pictures so we didn’t have very much time. I don’t even have my camera on me so I can’t send pictures today :/. Besides that we are going good!

The area is struggling a bit though to be honest. The church is at 8 in the morning and we are pretty far from the building. We share it with this other area which is like super close to the building and they don’t have to go until like 11:30. Pretty lame if you ask me haha but oh well. We had 0 people in church and so that was pretty lame. We did however have a baptism!! I baptized this lady named Heidy that the other elders had left us. She is super cool and was super ready to get baptized. It’s pretty funny and interesting sometimes to baptize people here because they have no idea how to do it. Like when she got baptized she didn’t really freak out but kind of froze. You learn as a missionary to kind of just force them underwater haha. Luckily she made it all the way under the first time! It was really cool. Her mom was baptized forever ago but stopped going so we go to reactivate one and baptize another! 2 more souls saved :).

But as for now we are struggling in finding people really ready to listen to us and be able to teach them and everything. A lot of people seem really cool and have decent excuses for not going to church or whatever but still they don’t go. It kind of amazes me sometimes the temptations that can get in the way of coming to church. Like when you want to go and your kid gets sick like the day before and they also run a tienda so one has to be with the kid and the other with the tienda.. It’s so hard to get people to see the blessings of REALLY putting God first in their lives. One phrase that people always say here is ¨Primero Dios,¨ And it bugs the heck out of me because it has no meaning! They say it but don’t do it. ugh. But anyways still working hard to find those people!

Things are still going really good with my companion. He’s really funny and we get along good and help each other work hard and its good. Anyways I love you all!

Ooo I have some homework for everyone that reads my letters :D. Helaman 6:2-5. Read that and DO IT! Every member has a role to play in missionary work. No one would be part of this gospel if it wasn’t for missionaries. Anyways I love you guys! Have a great week!!

Love,

Elder Marrott
