New Companion, Elder Lambeth from California

Everyone,

Hey! So this week was good. I have a new companion but I’m still here in Nino Artillero. My comps name is Elder Lambeth and he’s from somewhere near Sacramento California. He’s pretty new on the mission. He has like half my time and his Spanish is... slow. He talks good enough for people to understand him but sometimes they don’t pay attention to him because he talks kind of slow. I’ll be helping him a ton in that.

Elder Cifuentes left on Saturday to Cuernavaca and goes home today... :(. I’ll miss him he was awesome. He gave me a shirt that has a bunch of words in Spanish that are only used in Guatemala and it’s pretty funny. Like chanchullero is someone that likes to do business like they are always trying to rip you off. It’s a cool shirt that totally doesn’t fit me but I’ll keep it from him.

So the work here is going pretty good. We found this lady named Imelda who is the girlfriend of this less active. She is suuuper cool and wants to progress and learn a ton more about the gospel and I totally see her getting baptized. The thing is the hermano was married and sealed before and now he doesn’t go. They have to get married before she can get baptized but she really wants to but he doesn’t.. it’s kind of a different weird situation.

It’s still super tough to get more people at church but we are slowly getting better at it. We are hoping to kind of have an intervention with the ward council this week and getting a ton more help from them.

Oh I almost forgot but this week we get to have a meeting with a 70!!! It’s going to be super cool. Elder Mendoza or Mendez, it’s gonna be sweet. He’s probably going to talk about how the ward council needs to direct the missionary work more. There’s a really cool video on this dvd called hastening the work of salvation that talks about a few different wards around the world that have started working a lot more with missionaries. We are going to share it with all the members this week to get them helping us haha.

Well I’m learning a lot and still doing good.  My Spanish is really getting better and I’d consider myself fluent now. I love it here and my testimony grows of the restauration and Jesus Christ every day. I love you all and have a great week!!
